But pigmentation is not the only thing that defines your skin type. There is a lot more to tell about your skin! And a lot more tools to give your individual skin the nourishment it needs to truly radiate in all its beauty.

1. Without using any cosmetics, my facial skin looks and feels:
c) Dull, feeling a little bit tight or itchty
d) Itchy or tight in some places, oily in other places
2. In winter time, my skin usually:
a) Is shiny on the face, other body parts require no specific attention

c) Tends to feel dry and itchy, cracks on shins if not moisturized regularly

3. When taking a shower, I:
a) Usually wash my face and body with something foamy and soap-like, it makes me feel refreshed.
b) Can use whatever I have on hand, my skin is happy either way.
c) Use little soap and have to moisturize afterwards, or my skin will feel itchy and dry.
d) Wash my face with something soap-like, but have to moisturize my body afterwards to prevent dry skin.

You have a predominantly oily skin. Our tips: Use light, easily absorbed products that do not clog pores. You may gently cleanse or occasionally exfoliate your skin. Exfoliating will make your skin feel fresh and clear, and will help UV-light penetrate your skin more deeply and evenly. But: don’t overdo it, and be sure to use a good hydrating lotion afterwards (like Peau d’Or 365) and drink sufficient water! Hydration is maybe not the first thing you think about when you have oily skin, but it is all the more important: dehydration could stimulate the sebaceous glands in your skin to produce even more of the oily stuff, to try and protect itself. This is also why soapy substances and excessive scrubbing are a bad idea: it robs your skin of its fatty layer, causing it to produce even more of it.
Tanning with the right amount of UV-light for your skin (check your Fitzpatrick-skin type here) might help balance out impurities. (Do not squeeze pimples though, as this may cause damage or scarring and may show even more after tanning). Always use a tanning lotion to avoid dehydration.
Last but not least: eat well, sleep well and chill out. Stress affects our bodies in may ways, but it also affects the hormones that regulate your skin’s oil production. So love up your skin with some Peau d’Or 365 daily, have a sunbed when you feel like it and take good care of you!
All Peau d’Or lotions are easily absorbed, do not clog pores and have great hydrating properties. So in fact, all lotions are suitable for oily skin. Double Black, Pure and Pure men have a somewhat thinner consistency, hence are very easy to apply and may feel more refreshing to your oily skin.
You have officialy made us jealous. It seems like you almost have a care-free skin! Maybe it comes naturally to you, or maybe you just put a lot of effort in to self-care: eating well, sleeping well, staying hydrated. Either way, any Peau d’Or lotion is very well suited for you. Do not neglect your skin though: also low-maintenance skin needs some maintenance. So shine, my dear, and keep loving your skin!
You have dry skin. Dry skin however can be exlpained in two ways: skin that does not produce enough oil, or skin that is simply dehydrated (not enough water). When we talk about dry skin, we usually mean skin that does not produce enough oil. (Make sure to test whether your skin is actually dry or just dehydrated by regularly using a hydrating lotion or cream, drinking enough water, eating and sleeping well). Dry and dehydrated do, however, often go hand in hand: as the dry skin lacks sufficient oil as a protective layer, it is more prone to dehydration.
Our tips: Dry skin can use some richness when it comes to cosmetics. Nourishing creams that help your skin regenerate or build up its protective layer ánd make sure it stays hydrated. When using a tanning bed: drink enough water, apply a tanning lotion before tanning, and a moisturizer like Peau d’Or 365 afterwards. Remember a well hydrated skin tans more easily, and suffers little negative effects of UV-light.
Lower the temperature of your showers, shower only when you need to and keep them short: hot water is a sure recipy for dry and itchy skin. Refrain from using soap or shower gels, except for the places that really need it , and again, use moisturizer afterwards.
Dry skin is not meant to be dull… It just needs some love and nourishment to sparkle!

You have combination skin. Wich means, your skin is oily in some places and dry in others. Also here, dry can mean two things: a skin that is devoid of oil, or simply dehydrated thus devoid of moist (see ‘dry skin’ section above). Combination skin lacks balance in creating its natural oily barrier. In some places, it produces to much and in other places, it produces too little. Or: it produces too much oil in general, but still has problems retaining moisture (oily & dehydrated skin). To help your skin find balance can take some effort, but it can certainly be done!
The best and most important advice is: moisturize, moisturize and moisturize. Drink enough water (a daily glass of water with some dissolved sea salt will help you retain the moisture!). Use products that are light and easily absorbed (eg not clog pores), but still full of nutrients. Cleanse with very gentle products, only if needed. Exfoliate only occasionally. Reading the tips on ‘mostly A’ and ‘mostly C’ will be of help too!
